Description:
In continuation of the conference “Romanticism Today: Realism, Nature, and Existence in Romantic Philosophy” (March 30 – April 1, 2022), a one-day PhD conference will take place at Aarhus University. The PhD conference offers doctoral students the opportunity to present and discuss their project, ongoing works, and prospective research projects on romanticism. Eligible for acceptance are presentations related to the broadly construed notion of romantic philosophy, and its various German, British, French, and Scandinavian proponents. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, romantic conceptions of metaphysics, epistemology, politics, ethics, aesthetics, religion, science, and arts.
Each talk will be given a 20-minutes timeslot for presentation, which will, subsequently, be discussed in plenum. Dr. Nassar, Dr. Moe Rasmussen, and Dr. Rasmussen will participate in the PhD conference and comment on the presentations in the joint discussions.
Proposals, containing name, affiliation, a title, and a short description of the talk (maximal 500 words), should be attached to the application.
Deadline for submission of proposals is February 1, 2022. Applicants will be informed about acceptance or rejection of their proposal by March 1, 2022.
Successful applicants will receive meals and refreshments during the PhD conference.
Aim:
PhD students are offered the opportunity to strengthen their presentation techniques in conference-like circumstances and, through joint discussions with international renowned scholars from the research area of romantic philosophy, improve their scientific work.
Target group:
Primarily PhD students and, subsidiary, early career researchers.
Form:
PhD conference with individual presentations (20 minutes) and joint discussion.
