Introduction day, Graduate School of Technical Sciences
Criteria for participation: Enrolment as PhD student at Technical Sciences, Aarhus University.
Aim: Introduction event for all newly enrolled PhD students at Technical Sciences, Aarhus University.
The Graduate School of Technical Sciences wishes to welcome all newly enrolled PhD students to the PhD programme by inviting them to an introductory day together with other PhD students enrolled in summer and fall 2025. The Introduction day is mandatory for all GSTS students.
Head of PhD School Michelle H. Williams will welcome and introduce the participants to the PhD school and the PhD study at the Graduate School of Technical Sciences. Thereafter, the participants will:
- Get good advice on being a career wise researcher
- Get an introduction to AUPA – Aarhus University PhD Association
Another part of the program will be devoted to the theme “research integrity” and will include:
- A workshop on responsible conduct of research
- An introduction to data management and fair data
Preparation before: In connection with the topic ‘responsible conduct of research’ participants will need to complete an online Epigeum Course before taking part in the Introduction Day. Participants will receive information on how to complete the online course two weeks before the Introduction day takes place. Please set aside time to complete the online course (approximately 5-6 hours).
Instructors: Head of PhD School Michelle H. Williams, Senior Career Consultant for PhDs and Junior researchers from AU Career, Vibeke Broe, Anna Slyngborg from AU Library, Kristian H. Nielsen from Centre for Science Studies at Aarhus University, PhD Partner Fredrikke Kongsted Hansen.
Final programme will be emailed a week before the event.
