Chair
In 2026, there wil be mixed sessions containing both Pitches, Flash talks and Oral presentations
One senior chair and one or two co-chairs (3rd year PhD student) will be assigned to each of the sessions. The students present their work followed by short oral feedback from the chairs and scientific questions from the chairs and other listeners.
The main task for the chairs is to act as moderators for the individual presentations as well as the whole session, to give a short and constructive oral feedback on each presentation, to prepare one or two questions for each students based on their presentation, and to make sure that there is time and room for questions from the audience as well.
Who can register
Registration for Chair at PhD Day 2026 is only for VIP (professors, associate professors, assistant professors, post.docs).
Chairs for the sessions at PhD Day 2026
On the page "Register", you can register as chair for one of the many mixed sessions of pitchs, flash talks, and oral presentations at the PhD Day 16 January 2026.
If more have signed up than needed, the roles will divided according to which areas the sessions are concerning.
Role of the chair for PhD Day
Each session will be assigned one senior chair and one/two 3rd year PhD students as co-chairs.
By the end of a presentation, the chairs should give a short oral feedback.

The first round of sessions takes place at 11:05 to 12:35 (followed by a lunch break)
The second round of sessions takes place from 14:30 to 15:40
All sessions are mixed with 2.5 minutes pitchs from first year PhD students and Research year students, 4 minutes flash talks from second year PhD students and 10 minutes oral
presentations from third year PhD students. All prsentations are followed by feedback and questions from the chairs and other members of the audience.
