About signing up

Once you have submitted your abstract, you are automatically signed up for participation in the PhD Day. The PhD Day is a mandatory part of the PhD programme at Health. All PhD students must participate in PhD Day at least twice during their enrolment period.
If you are NOT presenting a abstract during the day or being co-chair, you should NOT sign up. You can just show up on the day and you are most welcome to do so.
If you attend the PhD workshop “Fill Up Your Toolbox for Future Commercial Research Collaboration”, you will get a separate diploma for workshop attendance.

About registration

The PhD Day is only for internal PhD students and research year students at Health. Students from other faculties will not be allocated a place for this course. If you wish to withdraw from the course or have further questions, please contact graduateschoolhealth@au.dk.

You submit an abstract describing either the results obtained or (for those who have only just started) describing the project. The abstracts will be presented in an online abstract book.

Students participating in the PhD Workshop "Fill Up Your Toolbox for Future Commercial Research Collaborations" on 14 and 15 January 2026 should not submit an abstract. The pitch at the workshop count as your registration for PhD Day 2026 and substitutes your abstract submission.

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

Submission of abstract opens on 12 September and closes on 1 November.  To open the submission form click "Register" at the top of the page.

The maximum number of characters for abstracts is 1,700 (including spaces)  Please check the length of your abstract! There is no character count and no warning if you exceed the character limit (extra characters are left out when you submit your abstract).  Make sure that your abstract has been approved by the co-authors, and be aware that abstracts are not proofread.

  • Second year PhD students are invited to submit abstracts and present a 4 minute flash talk.
  • Third year PhD students are invited to submit an abstract and participate as co-chairs or by giving an 10 minute oral presentation.
