9.00-9.30: Welcome and introduction to the day
incl. a short introduction to the services AU offers PhD students within career.
9.30-10.15: Where should your PhD take you?
In this session, we will look at the diverse and very broad job market for researchers from Arts in order to give you an idea of the possibilities. We will discuss the factors that determine the direction of our work-life, and you will work on uncovering what values and interests that can guide you.
10.15-10.30: Coffee break
10.30-12.15: Meet your alumni
Meet three alumni and be inspired by why they chose this career, how they got the job, which tasks they solve, and which competences from their PhD position they benefit from. Alumni to be announced.
12.15-12.45: Lunch
12.45-13.50: Knowing your strengths and competencies
Knowing your strengths is an asset when advancing your career and communicating your professional abilities. In this session, you will uncover the skills and competen-cies you develop throughout your PhD. We will examine these from a non-academic perspective to identify which skills you want to develop further and how they can be applied in your future career.
13.50-14.00: Break
14.00-15.00: Communicating your strengths and competencies
In this session, we will continue reflecting on your competencies. The focus will be on how to articulate and translate your unique combination of knowledge, skills, compe-tencies, and personal strengths to others. This skill is invaluable not only when pre-senting yourself to potential employers but also in various other professional contexts.
15.00-15.30: Wrap up and how to work with your career from here
Aim
- The purpose of this workshop is to provide inspiration and information on potential career paths for PhDs from the represented PhD programs.
- Additionally, it aims to support participants in identifying the skills and competencies they acquire during their PhD journey and effectively communicating them
