Do you feel overwhelmed by GDPR? And would you rather concentrate on what’s most important in your research project?

Then come join this course and learn about legal basis, duty to provide information, registration to the record, anonymisation, the rights of data subjects and much more…

In the course of a research project, it is often necessary to collect data about natural persons, e.g. via interviews or from social media. When doing so GDPR compliance in the research project is needed.

As a researcher, you are responsible for ensuring that the collected data is, among other things, processed, stored, and possibly transferred correctly, so data does not end up in the wrong hands.

In this course we look at the practical implementation of GDPR in the research project. The aim is not for you to become an expert in the field, but for you to gain knowledge and understanding of what is relevant, and what considerations you need to make.

Along the way, there will be an opportunity to ask questions, big or small, concrete and hypothetical.

The goal is to provide you with specific tools so you can easily ensure GDPR compliance in your research project.

The course is for PhD students at the Graduate School, Arts, Aarhus University and is held in English unless all participants are Danish speakers.
