This series of workshops aims to improve PhD students’ ability to write articles targeted at specific academic journals. In a two stage process, we begin by discussing various explicit and implicit norms of academic writing for journals as well as existing articles from journals as selected by the participants, after which we discuss the participants’ own drafts aimed at publication in these journals.
Aim:
Taking its point of departure in article drafts from the participants, the workshops aim to improve the participants' journal writing skills and their strategic understanding of the audience and gatekeepers of their target journals.
Literature:
Pre-readings will be circulated at a later point.
Target group:
The target group is PhD-students in the humanities. Participants will be required to submit a draft of an unpublished article.
