The course 53rd Sandbjerg Meeting on Membrane Transport is being offered by the Graduate School of Health, Aarhus University, spring 2024.
Criteria for participation: University degree in medicine, dentistry, nursing, or Master’s degree in other fields and/or postgraduate research fellows (PhD students and research-year medical students).
Requirements for participation: Abstract submission, preparation of poster and oral presentation
Aim: State of the art lectures of current topics in membrane transport. Focus on technical, conceptual and methodological innovations in the field of membrane transport research.
Learning outcomes:
- Networking with national and international peers of your research area
- Practice oral presentation skills and in depth discussion of scientific questions
- Update your knowledge on new biological concepts
- In depth discussion of technological/method approaches to study your scope of questions.
Workload: The full workload of the course is expected to be 22 hours excluding preparation. In order to obtain 2.2 ECTS, all student are expected to prepare an abstract, a poster and – unless the project starts in 2024 – an oral presentation of 10 minutes (with following 5 minutes for discussion). Newly started students will be offered co-chairman ship at the oral sessions.
Content: Physiology, Pathophysiology, Integrative Physiology in perspective of functional or dysfunction transport and signaling across biomembranes.
Instructors: 18 expert associate and full professors within the research field of membrane transport from Danish and European universities.
Venue: Sandbjerg Estate, Sønderborg
Participation in the course is without cost for:
- PhD students and research-year students from Health, Aarhus University
Accommodation fee:
- PhD students enrolled at partner universities of the Nordoc collaboration. A payment for accommodation of DKK 1342.50 will be charged.
- PhD students from other institutions in the open market agreement for PhD courses. A payment for accommodation of DKK 1342.50 will be charged.
