The course C204/14 Basic and practical course in quantitative immunoassays is being offered by the Graduate School of Health, Aarhus University, 2024.

Criteria for participation:  University degree in medicine, dentistry, nursing, or Master’s degree in other fields and/or postgraduate research fellows (PhD students and research-year medical students).

Requirements for participation: Basic skills in laboratory work.

Aim: The aim of the course is to give a practical and theoretical introduction to immunoassays with focus on quantitative assays (ELISA, TRIFMA). The course will give the participants skills to work with quantitative immunoassays in the laboratory and to troubleshoot in relation the daily routine work.

Learning outcomes: The participants obtain theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for development, troubleshoot, and validation of ELISA and TRIFMA assays.

Workload: The full workload of the course is expected to be 22 hours

Content: This is a three day course consisting of: Theoretical lectures in basic immunoassay technology, introduction to different immunoassays, validation, quality demand and troubleshooting. Group discussions, and theoretical assignments. Practical lab work (ELISA/TRIFMA) at the Medical Research facilities followed by evaluation and discussions of the results.
