Course Introduction day, Graduate School of Technical Sciences

Criteria for participation:
Enrolment as or soon to be enrolled as PhD student at Technical Sciences, Aarhus University.

Aim:
Introduction event for all newly enrolled PhD students at Technical Sciences, Aarhus University.

The Graduate School of Technical Sciences wishes to welcome all newly enrolled PhD students to the PhD programme by inviting them to an introductory day. The Introduction day is mandatory for all GSTS students.

The programme of the day features:

• An introduction to AUPA – Aarhus University PhD Association
• A crash course in the PhD planner system and what the PhD administration can help you with
  
• An introduction to the Graduate School and the PhD prorgamme
• Data management and FAIR data
• Good advice on being a career wise researcher
• A workshop on responsible conduct of research

In connection with the topic ‘responsible conduct of research’ participants will need to complete an online Epigeum Course before taking part in the Introduction Day. Participants will receive the programme of the day and information on how to complete the online course two weeks before the Introduction day takes place. Please set aside time to complete the online course (approximately 5-6 hours).

Head of PhD School Brian Vinter, PhD Partner Lone Iversen, Associate professor Kristian H. Nielsen from Centre for Science Studies, Career counsellor Vibeke Broe from AU Career and a representative from AUPA/Aarhus University PhD Assosiation.

Mogens Zieler Stuen, AU Conference Centre, building 1422, Fredrik Nielsens vej 2, 8000 Aarhus C.

Course date:
4 October 2023 at 11.15-16.00 - after the official programme has ended, you are welcome to stay and chat with your fellow PhD students. The Graduate School would like to offer you a free soft drink/beer/glass of vine/coffee or tea (not alcoholic drink) from the student bar.
