Please note that this is a residential course taking place at Huset in Middelfart with mandatory stay over.
The course C303/02 PhD projects and clinical trials in hematology: definition of study cohorts, correlative biological studies and intervention design is being offered by the Graduate School of Health, Aarhus University, spring 2022.
Criteria for participation: University degree in medicine, dentistry, nursing, or Master’s degree in other fields and/or postgraduate research fellows (PhD students and research-year medical students).
Aim: To inspire young scientists to clinical-translational research by giving them insight in different aspects on the conception, design and implementation of clinical trials in general and hematological trials in particular.
Learning outcomes: How to:
- Translate a good idea into a clinical trial design,
- Move from trial design to an approved trial protocol,
- Link interventional approaches to correlative biology
Content: Lectures from:
- Research leaders (epidemiology, clinical and basic research), regulative authorities and academic clinical trial managers
- Presentation of own research and problem shooting
- General discussion sessions to facilitate networking between participants and faculty, as well as among participants from different research groups.
Instructors: Francesco d’Amore and Maja Ludvigsen will lead the course and as described above several people will provide lectures / discussion sessions

Participation in the course is without cost for:
- PhD students, research-year students and research honours programme students from Health, Aarhus University
Course fee:
- PhD students enrolled at partner universities of the Nordoc collaboration. A payment for accommodation of DKK 1490 will be charged.
- PhD students from other institutions in the open market agreement for PhD courses. A payment for accommodation of DKK 1490 will be charged.
